Our new newsletter is here
| Dear friends and partners, The year 2024 is drawing to a close and we can look back on some exciting months. In addition to classic 5-day project weeks, which we carried out at well-known schools and those participating for the first time, we had the opportunity to carry out short projects with classes at the observation level at two Hamburg secondary schools in December. We are delighted with the results and the pupils' cooperation! The graphic novel “Zeter und Mordio - Frei nach den Memoiren der Glückl von Hameln”, which was developed in collaboration with Hamburg comic artist Jens Cornils and Geschichtomat, has finally been published. Based on an exciting detective story, the book provides both humorous and thought-provoking insights into the history of the Jewish communities in Hamburg and Altona in the late 17th century. In addition to our project weeks, we were represented with our own event at the Hamburg Comic Festival (“Jewish History in Comics - Four Current Positions”) and accompanied two screenings of the impressive film “The Zone of Interest” during the SchulKinoWochen in November. And finally, an announcement on our own behalf: From February 1, 2025, Carmen Bisotti will take over the project management of the Geschichtomat again after the end of her parental leave. I would like to thank our team, the teaching staff and all our contacts over the past few months for the great collaboration!
