Project Week at Stadtteilschule am Hafen

4 new Videos

At the beginning of December, we were guests at the Stadtteilschule am Hafen for the first time. A year 10 class took part in the project and produced four videos:

  • The project week was run in cooperation with the Altona Museum. Two groups visited the museum and its exhibition "Freedom of belief - given and demanded since 1601". They looked at historical as well as current issues surrounding the topic of religious freedom. At the museum, they were given a guided tour and support by staff member Isabelle Kremm.
  • The Stadtteilschule am Hafen is located in the heart of Hamburg's Neustadt district, where many Jews lived in the 17th and 18th centuries. This automatically gave rise to further topics in the school's immediate vicinity. The composers' quarter is in the immediate vicinity and one group visited it to find out more about Gustav Mahler, his life and his work.
  • The fourth group went to the Heine'schen Wohnstift opposite the Museum für hamburgische Geschichte. Founded by Therese Halle, a daughter of the banker Salomon Heine, the foundation has had its home on Holstenwall since 1901. The young people had the opportunity to visit the building and view materials.

We would like to thank all our interview partners for their support!

As always, you can find all the videos here. We hope you enjoy watching them!
