Newsletter 1.23

Dear friends and partners,

It is unbelievable, but we are celebrating an anniversary: 10 years ago in February, our first project week took place at Franz von Assisi School in Barmbek. Back then, a 9th grade researched their neighborhood and created the first seven contributions for the digital city map. Some of them already included videos. Among other things, the young people dealt with the biographies of Ralph Giordano, Max Cohn and Heinrich Heine. Since then, 58 other schools have taken part in the project and around 1,000 Hamburg students have produced 257 contributions.

This is, of course, how we wish to continue. Three more project weeks await the Geschichtomat team until the summer holidays. In addition, two special projects are on the schedule: In April, the Days of Exile will take place in cooperation with the Foundation for the Preservation of Historical Monuments, and in September, a project on the topic of "Yiddish" in cooperation with the Salomo-Birnbaum Society. More information on both projects can be found below in our newsletter.

Now we are looking forward to the next 10 years!
