Project Week at Joseph-Carlebach-Schule

3 new Videos

This week Geschichtomat was a guest at the Joseph-Carlebach-Schule in Grindelviertel. The 12th grade class there worked on three videos. The project week focused on the Weimar Republic:

  1. The construction of the temple on Oberstraße dates back to this period, or more precisely to 1931. Today, it is home to the Rolf Liebermann Studio of the NDR. Branka de Veer from NDR told the young people about the history of this place.
  2. In the 1920s, there was also a lot of construction going on. And the Gerson brothers made a name for themselves as architects of numerous buildings. Their history was worked out by a second group.
  3. There were also great reforms in the schools during the Weimar Republic. Dr. Joseph Carlebach brought a breath of fresh air to the Grindelviertel as the new director of the Talmud Torah School. Sports, art and music, for example, took on greater importance in the classroom.
