In December, we visited the newly founded Gymnasium im Eilbektal for the first time. This was also the first time we worked with students in year 5. They created five videos within three days:

Two groups visited the Wandsbek Jewish cemetery in Königsreihe with film cameras in their luggage: one of the videos focuses on the history of this place, the other deals with the special features of Jewish cemeteries.

The other three groups created stop-motion films: they learned about the Jewish dietary laws, the Jewish calendar and the upcoming festival of Hanukkah and, with the help of drawings and creativity, each created an animated film on their topic.

We would like to thank the Gymnasium im Eilbektal for their hospitality and the opportunity to conduct this “experiment” there - it worked wonderfully.
