Newsletter 4.20

Dear friends and partners,

what a year! We had certainly all imagined something different. At the end of January, the Obermayer Award was presented to Geschichtomat and others in the Berlin House of Representatives, and by the end of February, three project weeks had already been implemented. But then Covid-19 came. Of course, some workshops could still take place online. And especially behind the scenes there was work done at the Geschichtomat project. In the coming weeks and months you will definitely find some changes on the website.

In the meantime, we are looking towards 2021 and are looking forward to hopefully finally being able to get back to school. Therefore, we can only encourage you to sign up for project weeks! Our team is flexible and spontaneous. We will find solutions to explore Hamburg's Jewish history together with you and your students. Let us know if you are interested.

We would also like to give a very specific hint about the project days "Experience the Jewish Purim Festival!" in cooperation with Gedenk- und Bildungsstätte Israelitische Töchterschule and Körber Foundation. From 22 to 25 February 2021, these will take place as part of the jubilee "1700 years of Jewish life in Germany". From now on you can register your class for it. You will find more information further down in the newsletter.

Finally, we would like to thank you, as we do every year. Our thanks go to all the teachers and students who participate in and help shape the project. We would like to thank all the sponsors without whom the whole project would not be possible. And, of course, we would also like to thank all our cooperation partners who inspire us again and again and who bring us great new topics and ideas.

We wish you happy holidays, a happy new year and lots of fun reading!

Carmen Bisotti and the Geschichtomat team
