Dear friends and partners,

We have been busy in the last three months:

In April, project days were held at the Jewish cemetery in Altona in cooperation with the Stiftung Denkmalpflege. For three days, school classes explored the special site on Königstraße. The young people studied funeral rites, biographies and grave symbols and recorded their findings on photos and posters.

In addition, there were three regular project weeks at the Heinrich Hertz School, the Blankenese District School and the Joseph Carlebach School. 14 new contributions were created by the participating young people and are available online on our digital city map. The new videos show the diversity of Hamburg's Jewish history: they deal with sports clubs and types of sports, Jewish holidays, the early modern period, various biographies, special (Jewish) places and the wild 1920s.

For the Geschichtomat team, it is not yet time for summer vacation. We still have a project week at the Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium in Harburg. However, we wish you a relaxing summer vacation and a good start into the new school year!
