The Wandsbek Eruv

Description:

In this film we have interviewed the historian Mrs. Astrid Louven about the Eruv in the city of Wandsbek.
An Eruv is used to circumvent the strict rules that apply during Sabbath.
The jewish community in the former city of Wandsbek had set up such an Eruv by installing  so called Jewish Gates. This displeased some of the non-jewish citizens.
Nowadays Eruvim can be found worldwide, especially im Isreal.
