Life in a famous rabbi-family
Before the era of nationalsozialism started, many jewish families lived in the district of Altona. In our video we report on a famous rabbi-family named Carlebach-Preuss, whose engangement and hospitality was outstanding.
Before and during the time of nationalsozialism the family lived in Hamburg. In 1941 they were deported to Riga, where they were killed.
We are five students from the Stadtteilschule Bahrenfeld and we went to Palmaille 57, where the family once lived. To find additional information we also visited the Stadtteilarchiv Ottensen to conduct an interview.
