How do political and cultural education go together? Anti-Semitism and racism, as well as attitudes of group-based misanthropy, are widespread. One of the central tasks of civil society and cultural and educational institutions is to counter them. Which approaches have proven particularly effective in this regard? How can the increasing polarization of society be countered? And what is the task of museums in this context?
These and other questions were addressed at the symposium "Political Dimensions of Cultural Education," jointly organized by the Jewish Museum Frankfurt and the Federal Agency for Civic Education on November 12 and 13, 2020. Due to Covid-19, the event took place online.
Together with other educational projects, Geschichtomat presented itself on a panel on practical examples.
